Match the base to the gate

Compare the town gateways and an officially bookable camp. The waterfall pictured is landscape context, not an accommodation photograph.

Baripada / Pithabata side

Consider it for
A town food or cultural day alongside a separately arranged forest visit.
Transport to plan
Confirm pickup and the permitted entry point before choosing a room.
Ask before booking
Early departure, packed breakfast rules, boarding the vehicle and return arrangements.

Jashipur / Kaliani side

Consider it for
A visit planned around the Kaliani gate.
Transport to plan
Ask where to meet and which gate your permit names.
Ask before booking
Arrival transfer, room access, meals and the operator’s change policy.

Official reserve camps

Consider it for
Time within the reserve when your chosen camp is open and bookable.
Transport to plan
Confirm gate-to-camp transfer and any separately booked safari.
Ask before booking
Actual inclusions, power, washrooms, steps, medical access and cancellation rules.

Book against an opening notice

The reserve’s 2026 monsoon notice closes tourist entry from 29 June, with exceptions for Jamuani and Talabandha complexes. It says reopening will be announced separately. Check the latest official notice for your date before booking; a general seasonal window is not an opening confirmation.

03 · Stay-area guide

Ask what the booking includes

The reserve publishes online night-stay arrangements and separate safari booking. Confirm the selected camp, permitted route and current inclusions before payment.

A comfortable forest day

Ask about rough-road travel, vehicle boarding, toilets and rest stops. Keep a town-based alternative if access changes; we have not inspected rooms or step-free routes.

Check current arrangements

Check the reserve notice before you book

The reserve’s guide makes seasonal opening subject to current official notices. It lists Kaliani and Pithabata entry gates, requires permits, and directs overnight bookings online. Drones are prohibited.

  • Check the latest opening notice and which gate serves your chosen route or camp. A general season description is not confirmation that the reserve is open on your date.
  • Confirm permits, vehicle requirements, guide arrangements and camp availability through the official booking route.
